“Wild West Show behind Gold Camps of Alaska” University of Washington Special Collections Nowell x2187
The wild and wooly life of life in an Alaskan gold mining camp was celebrated in this concession, built to look like an icy mountain around two living trees. An arena in back featured shows of trick riding.
The building on the left, with diapers hanging out to dry, was the Baby Incubator Exhibit, where premature babies were on display inside of tiny ovens. This concession was run by a surgical company that manufactured incubators.
